President’s Message for March

In like a lion...out like a lamb!

Well March surely lived up to its reputation this year. The lion thing I am way over but I can't wait to pat the little lamb.

I don't know about anyone else, but to me this winter seemed unusually long and bitter. So I am desperate for spring! Can't wait to open the windows and doors and get some fresh air into the house.

The fresh air came early for SGM though with the new board and programming committee came new program ideas and the planning of our 30th anniversary celebration in the fall is going to be an ongoing event throughout the year. I know I am excited.

The Mardi Gras program was a lot of fun even though I ended up with goopy gold glitter on my favorite wool sweater and I still have globs of gold and red on my boots. The committee went all out to entertain us and tempt us with special prizes like the penis pendants that are all the rage in Paris.

We even had a good time last Monday when due to the storm our presenter couldn't make it. We had a nice open forum discussion about anything we wanted. There were fifteen guys there with one new member. I don't think we scared the new member too much because he said he would be back.

So, I hope the next time I write for the newsletter, the flowers will be up and so will my spirits.
