President’s Message for JanuaryBaby Its Cold Outside!!
I am sitting here trying to decide whether I want to go out to grocery shop or do I want to crawl back into my warm bed and dream sweet dreams of hot weather and hot men!!
I'll give you a clue...I am not putting my coat on!!
I have certainly had my fill of snow and cold weather. But there isn't much one can do as they are forecasting another snow storm for tomorrow. When did we move to the arctic circle?
Okay, enough complaining! What do we have to look forward to? Well for one thing I have a three day weekend for the Martin Luther King holiday. Yeah!
Then Tuesday we have the inauguration of Barrack Obama as the 44th president of the United States. I don't know how you feel but I feel a great sense of hope that this man will change our country and probably the world in a very positive way.
With his invitation to Bishop Gene Robinson to participate in the inauguration programs I believe he is telling the GLBT community that he hasn't forgotten our support and I feel very confident that he will address our concerns as president.
As the new president he has incredible challenges ahead of him. With the worst economy and job loss in decades and the overall global animosity towards the US he has an uphill battle in front of him. Not to mention the two wars he has inherited from the last administration.
I know the hope I feel will help get me through the long dark winter. I feel this spring will be the best ever!
Until next month, be well and be happy!!
Joe
