President’s Message for MarchCozy late-winter greetings!
I wrote last month’s Message on Saturday the 17th (of February) after a large snowstorm, and now I’m writing this Message on another Saturday the 17th, again after a large snowstorm. At least I’m sitting in front of a roaring fire this time, enjoying my evening. We were all surprised by this late-winter nor’easter. Even here on the Seacoast we got a foot of snow, so I’m sure they got clobbered farther inland. Don’t despair: the good news is that winter is losing and spring is winning.
At the board meeting earlier this week I told the guys about the fabulous workshop I attended in Las Vegas two weekends earlier. I came home feeling energized like never before, and full of hope for what lies in store for me . . . and perhaps for some of you.
It started years ago for me with motivational tapes from Ken Roberts and Guy Finlay. More recently, the movie The Secret has made a huge sensation, with specials on Oprah and Ellen. If you have not yet seen it, I highly recommend it; visit www.thesecret.tv for more information. It all has to do with the law of attraction and how we tend to attract whatever is happening in our lives, whether it is good or bad. We can also change what we’re attracting by changing our thoughts, our language patterns, and, sadly, sometimes our friends.
If this sounds a bit too cosmic for you, well, join the club! The event that I attended in Las Vegas took The Secret to the next level by adding action to the mix. We did exercises that will help us put the law of attraction more powerfully to work in us. I’d direct you to my own website, but it’s still in development. Maybe next month’s Message will have more information.
To make a long story short, my career is likely to change because of all of this, taking me away from you some Monday evenings. I’ve discovered that my true passion is public speaking, and I’ll be writing some seminars that I plan to present nationwide. I’ll also be working with Marshall Sylver (www.sylver.com), the man whose event I attended in Las Vegas. Feel free to pull me aside and ask for more information about all of this. I’d be thrilled to include anyone else who’s ready to take his life to the next level.
You can’t get rid of me that easily, though. I’m sure I’ll still be around most Monday evenings. And whenever I’m not, Joe will take good care of you. I have, however, decided not to run for reelection, so don’t be surprised if I pull you aside to see if you’d be willing to run for president next year.
Until next month, be out, be proud, and enjoy the rebirth of spring!
Carl
