President’s Message for May

Soggy spring greetings!

Well, I do appear to have jinxed us in my April Message after all, because the weather has been horrendous lately: damp, cool, much more akin to what one might expect in early November. The good news is that warmer, sunnier weather is surely just around the corner—just in time for all of the outdoor activities coming up. As always, it’s not too late to volunteer to help out with whichever activities interest you most. See elsewhere in this newsletter for a rundown of all that is coming up, starting with Boston and Portland Prides in June.

At this past board meeting, I made the mistake of volunteering to do a Member Spotlight next month. It is scheduled for June 18. Although I don’t have any materials yet to speak on, this will be a great exercise for me, as it will be my first “speaking gig” after I attend the Seminar Bootcamp June 1–3 in Las Vegas. Of all the workshops that have taken me out of town lately, this is the one I have been looking forward to most. Once upon a time I used to teach computer classes, and I love standing up in front of a room of people and presenting, so moving from there into public speaking is really a natural progression. I hope there will be a good-sized crowd that evening. I guarantee that it will be interesting, and you’ll learn all the details about what I have been doing lately with Marshall Sylver’s organization (www.sylver.com), The Secret (www.thesecret.tv), and my own Demystifying Prosperity™ brand.

Enough of a plug for me. Back to you. You are the reason this organization exists. Without your active participation, we have no raison d’être. Clearly it has been due to your active participation that we have been going strong for 28 years, and I anticipate that we’ll still be around 28 years from now. So if you have not already joined a committee, or volunteered for a task, or simply stepped out of your comfort zone and reached out to a newcomer, I encourage you to become more involved. We’re a great group of loving men, and I am honored to serve as your president.

Until next month, be out, be proud, and dry out!
